Technical requirements for shape, size and surface condition of aluminum alloy forgings:

One of the tasks of aluminum alloy forging processing is to obtain the required shape, size and surface state of the forging to meet the requirements of the processing and use conditions of the parts, and to meet the requirements of the part pattern.

The shape and size of the forging should meet the requirements of the shape and size of the part, and be as similar or close as possible. The main basis for the design of the forging drawing is the part drawing. At the same time, the characteristics of the forging process, additional machining allowances and process materials, the structural elements of the forging, the surface geometry tolerance and dimensional tolerance should be considered. The forging drawing is the main basis for the acceptance of forging production. .

The surface state of forgings is an important indicator for evaluating the quality of forgings. The surface state of the unmachined surface of the forging will also directly affect the performance of the part. The starting point of the technical requirements for the surface condition of the forgings is to make the surface integrity of the forgings meet certain specification requirements.

Technical requirements for forging structure and mechanical properties:

The structure and mechanical properties of forgings are the most basic methods to ensure that parts meet the conditions of use. The main means to ensure the qualified structure and mechanical properties of forgings is to correctly formulate and strictly control the forging process of aluminum alloys.

The forging structure includes the low magnification structure and the high magnification structure of the forging piece. The low magnification structure is used to check the streamline distribution of forgings and judge various metallurgical defects in forgings. The high magnification structure includes the microstructure, grain size, purity and other items of the forging in the final heat treatment state.

The mechanical properties of forgings vary according to the different uses of the forgings. The room temperature mechanical properties of forgings, such as strength index, plasticity index, impact toughness, hardness, fatigue strength, fracture toughness, etc., will vary depending on the material and the different uses of the forging.

For parts working at high temperature, it should also have high temperature instantaneous tensile properties, durability, creep resistance, thermal fatigue properties and thermal stability. The mechanical properties of the forgings should also be coordinated and consistent with the mechanical properties of the raw materials. For large forgings, the mechanical properties can be appropriately reduced according to regulations. The mechanical properties of various aluminum alloy forgings are specified in the relevant technical standards. The test items required for trial production of batch forgings should be specified in the special technical conditions.
